Attention ILUG Attendees

I was chatting with Chris the other night and the idea came up about trying to get a group of ILUG attendees to stay at the same hotel. We figured if we could get a block of 10 or more rooms, we might be able to get a better rate on the rooms.

After talking it over with the wife and checking out some guest reviews, we have decided to stay at the Camden Court Hotel.  I had received some good reviews about the Harcort Hotel, but it seemed to be a little noisy for our liking. The Camden is relatively close to the venue (0.7 m/1.2 Km)  and has most of the amenities that we want. It has a restaurant/bar on site, so we won't have to wander stumble too far to get back to our rooms. The Spa was definitely something that caught the wife's eye.  The price is not cheap in my McPesos, but it's not the most expensive by any stretch.

If you have not made your reservations yet and would like to try to exercise some "group buying power", please respond ASAP.  I will be contacting the hotel in the next week and will definitely have my room reserved by this time next week.

Update:  In case you are wondering, I am expecting to ask for a group rate for Tues, We, Thurs, and Fri night stays.  If more people are planning on arriving earlier or staying later, I will add days to the request to the hotel accordingly.

Count me in Sean. I've already booked a room for my ILUG trip, but it doesn't have anything like the facilities on offer here. If we can get a decent discount, I'll happily switch hotels.

Nice hotel! Bit better than the Holiday Inn I stayed in last year ;-)

Put me on the list. Hopefully you can get it under €100 but even if not, it looks a great place to stay as a group.

I might end up at the Shelbourne Dubline, just because I might use Marriott points. But if you get this down cheap enough, I might be convinced :-)

We are group of 10-15 persons from Bergen, Norway. We are also looking for a hotel, so this seems like a great initiative. If you are able to get a great deal, I assume that most of us would like to join in.

We're looking at a few places and if you can get this down to 100E or less a night we'll probably just go with this one. We're arriving on 31 May and leaving on 7 June.

I'm interested, but I haven't decided exactly what days I'll be in Dublin yet. If you're talking to them about a total number of interested people, put me on the list!

I know I'm late, but I wasn't sure I would be going. Can you add in 2 more rooms - Heidi Votaw and myself? I imagine Mary Beth would want in too...I'll fwd her your email.

I don't want to steal Sean's thunder, but we booked a room at the Fitzwilliams through SkyAuction.com. The final cost was $200 US per night, including all the fees from SkyAuction. The Fitzwilliams is about a block further away from the conference center than Camden Court.

I haven't heard back from Sean yet, but when I checked the same day he posted this, Camden Court showed no availability.
